Former
Game of Thrones star Sean Bean has said he would love to make a return to the
hit Sky Atlantic show – even though his character, Ned Stark, was brutally
killed off at the end of series one.
The actor, 54, told Guilty
Pleasures that he would like to reprise the role either in a flashback or as a
ghost on the fantasy show.
‘I hope so,’ he said of making a
comeback while walking down the red carpet at the TV Baftas. ‘Maybe even as a
zombie? It would be nice to come back, if it’s relevant to the books, and do a
few days. It would be nice to see everybody and it’s a great show.’
The star – who previously dipped
into the fantasy realms as Boromir in the epic Lord of the Rings film trilogy –
also joked that he has missed getting into epic battles in the name of his art.
‘I do sometimes miss running
around with swords,’ he laughed, adding: ‘ But I have a few at home, so I’m all
right!’
Sean was nominated on the night for his
portrayal as a cross dresser in the BBC drama, Accused, but missed out in the
best actor category to Ben Whishaw.
