Jason Derulo has missed out on a chance of collaborating
with his idol Kanye West as he was too polite to wake up the Touch The Sky
rapper.
The It Girl singer, 23, shared a
flight with West, 36, while heading to London for promotional duties.
‘He’s somebody that’s just been
able to reinvent and keep it fresh and just do s*** that nobody’s doing,’
Derulo told Guilty Pleasures when he was in the capital earlier this month.
‘On my way here I saw him on the
plane. I actually planned on going and saying “whatsup” but he slept the entire
ten hour flight,’ he reveals.
‘I was like “dammit!” I was going
to ask him to get on this song!’
However both boys are currently enjoying
chart success separately.
On Sunday Jason scored the biggest
new entry of the week landing at Number two with his new track, The Other Side
– just failing to knock reigning champion Robin Thicke off the top spot who is
still at Number 1 with Blurred Lines.
Meanwhile Kanye’s album Yeezus
shot to the top of the album charts – giving him his first UK number 1 to date.
Kanye is also reportedly besotted
with the arrival of his first child, daughter North West, with lover Kim
Kardashian.
Sources close to the star have revealed
he is already making work on his next album with his bundle of joy proving such
an influence that he has already written four songs just for her.
