A*M*E: I’m keeping my boyfriend secret

A*M*E says just because she’s No.1 in the charts don’t expect her to be sharing her love life woes like her rivals on Twitter.
The 18-year-old Sierra Leonean-born British star says she’s fiercely protective of keeping her secret lover under wraps after her and Duke Dumont’s track Need U (100%) went tops on Sunday.
‘This you don’t ever get to know. You just get to know I have one,’ the star, real name Amy Kabba, told Metro from her music studio in LA.
‘You won’t get to see his face. I’m keeping him safe.’
The rising star is towing the line over the pond after her meteoric rise on the music scene and says her celebrations have been muted because she is underage.
‘I can’t deal with missing good parties!’ said the hyped star, who was first brought to the UK’s attention when she was part of the BBC Sound Of 2013 long list at the start of the year.

Keeping off the sauce this time around she said: ‘I haven’t had any heavy nights here. You can’t have any heavy nights because the age limit is 21.’
Instead the star has had to make do with ‘unlimited Nandos, and apple juice.’
Oozing talent, the pint sized pop star revealed it takes her less than an hour to pen a smash hit.
‘It’s crazy. I cannot believe it,’ she said of her success.
‘Not in my biggest hopes, dream, aspirations or imagination did I think I’d get to number 1. [The song] was written in half an hour by me and [writing partner] MNEK and then people were feeling it. It’s really cool. Being number 1 has to be a high point, doesn’t it?’
A*M*E is currently working on her debut album and is set to release her first solo single in June.
